Hi, I'm Thomas Macomson.
I help professionals and students master English so they can achieve their career and academic goals.
For over 18 years, I've been teaching English to students worldwide, from TOEIC and IELTS preparation to American pronunciation and business communication. What drives me is seeing that moment when a student finally 'gets it' and their confidence transforms.
My Journey to Teaching English
I started teaching English in 2006, when I graduated from university and moved to Italy. What began as a short term job quickly evolved into a passion for helping students break through the language barriers that held them back.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with students from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, from university students preparing for TOEIC and IELTS exams to immigrants perfecting their American pronunciation to professionals developing their business communication skills.
Each student brings unique challenges and goals, and I've learned that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to language learning. That's what led me to create Next Level English Prep, a place where personalized coaching meets practical resources, so students can learn in the way that works best for them.
Whether through one-on-one lessons, free practice apps, or YouTube videos, my goal is always the same: help you communicate clearly and confidently in English, so you can achieve whatever comes next in your career or education.
I understand the challenges of language learning firsthand. I speak decent Spanish, and Italian, and have learned some words in Vietnamese, Chinese and Guarani. Learning other languages has taught me that practice and patience is the best way to improve any language, and it's shaped how I teach today.
I focus on what actually matters, the specific skills and knowledge you need to reach YOUR goals. No wasted time on generic lessons. Every session is purposeful and tailored to where you are and where you want to go.

I currently work remotely from Vietnam and teach students worldwide via Zoom and Google Meet. I really enjoy trying new food from the new cities I get to explore, and trying to learn a few new phrases in different languages along the way.
When I'm not teaching, you'll find me exploring the local street food scene, reading about educational technology, or planning my next travel adventure.
I'm passionate about making quality English education accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or location. That's why I've invested hundreds of hours creating free apps and video lessons alongside my one-on-one coaching.
