Special TOEIC Speaking Course

Welcome to the TOEIC Speaking Intensive Course!

This 10.5-hour program is designed to help you excel in the TOEIC Speaking Test by developing essential skills such as pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and clear communication. Over 7 engaging lessons, you will master each section of the test, from reading aloud to expressing opinions, while improving your ability to describe pictures, and respond to questions. With personalized feedback, timed practice, and refined strategies for workplace scenarios, this course provides all the tools and support you need to achieve your goals and boost your confidence. TOEIC Speaking Course Overview

Duration: 10.5 hours (7 lessons of 1.5 hours each)  

Objective: Prepare for all questions on the TOEIC Speaking Test by improving fluency, pronunciation, coherence, and confidence in workplace communication scenarios.

Class 1: Introduction and Read a Text Aloud (Questions 1–2)

Objectives

 

Understand the test structure, questions, and scoring criteria.  

Familiarize students with timing and response requirements for each section.  

Practice reading texts aloud with clear pronunciation, intonation, and fluency.

Test Overview and Scoring Criteria

 

 Overview of the test sections (Questions 1–11).  

Discuss scoring criteria: pronunciation, intonation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary, and content.  

 

​Questions 1–2: Read a Text Aloud  
​

 

 Introduction: Review question instructions (45 seconds to prepare, 45 seconds to speak).  

 Pronunciation and Intonation Practice: Focus on stress, rhythm, and pitch variation with sample texts.  

   Guided Reading Practice: Students practice reading passages aloud with feedback on pacing and clarity.  

   Simulated Test Practice: Timed practice with instructor feedback on fluency, pronunciation, and intonation.

Speaking Assessment  
​

 

   Conduct a shortened diagnostic test for Questions 1–2 and simple opinion questions.  

   Provide brief feedback and set personal goals for improvement.

Class 2: Describe a Picture (Questions 3–4)

​

Objectives


Develop skills to describe images clearly and logically.  
Use a structured approach to organize responses.  
Practice including relevant details under time pressure.

Activities


Task Introduction


   Explain the question format: 45 seconds to prepare, 30 seconds to speak.  
   Emphasize the need for clarity, organization, and appropriate vocabulary.

Structure Practice  


 Overview (What is happening generally?)  
  Details (Who/what is in the image, and what are they doing?)  
 Additional elements (Background, inferred context, speculations).  

​

Model Responses


   Analyze sample responses to identify effective strategies.  

​

Guided Picture Descriptions


   Provide students with various images (workplace and everyday scenarios).  
   Students practice in pairs or small groups, with peer feedback.  

​

Simulated Test Practice


 Timed practice: 45 seconds preparation, 30 seconds to describe.  
Instructor feedback on content, coherence, and vocabulary.

Class 3: Respond to Questions (Questions 5–7)

​

Objectives


Practice responding clearly and concisely to everyday and workplace questions.  
Build fluency and confidence for rapid responses.  
Incorporate useful vocabulary and grammatical structures.

15 seconds to respond for Questions 5–6
30 seconds for Question 7

Question Types and Strategies:

Discuss common question themes: routines, preferences, workplace situations.
Provide example phrases for quick responses (e.g., “Usually, I…,” “In my opinion…”).

Response Practice


Ask sample questions, and students respond spontaneously.
Focus on direct answers with logical elaboration.

Simulated Test Practice


Timed Q&A practice under exam conditions.
Feedback on fluency, clarity, and grammar.

Class 4: Respond to Questions Using Information (Questions 8–10)

​

Objectives


Interpret and use provided information effectively.
Develop strategies to respond to information-based questions.
Improve fluency and coherence when speaking about workplace scenarios.

Task Introduction


Review question format:
45 seconds to review provided information.
15 seconds to respond to Questions 8–9.
30 seconds to respond to Question 10.

Practice reading charts, schedules, or announcements.
Highlight how to extract key details for responses.

Analyze sample responses to identify effective strategies.

Guided Practice


  Students work in pairs with sample prompts. One reads the information; the other answers questions.
Provide feedback on accuracy and relevance.

Simulated Test Practice


Timed practice with real-world scenarios (e.g., meeting schedules, customer requests).

Class 5: Express an Opinion (Question 11)

​

Objectives


Learn to structure an opinion response clearly and logically.

Use linking words and examples to support ideas.
Develop confidence in speaking for a full 60 seconds.

Review question format: 45 seconds to prepare, 60 seconds to speak.
Discuss scoring criteria: clarity, coherence, and vocabulary.

    State Opinion (e.g., “I believe…”)
Reason/Justification (e.g., “This is because…”)
Example/Detail (e.g., “For instance…”)
Conclude Briefly

Practice Prompts


Provide prompts (e.g., “Do you think teamwork is important in the workplace?”).
Students present their opinions.

Simulated Test Practice


Timed individual practice with feedback on structure, vocabulary, and fluency.

Class 6: Full Test Simulation and Feedback

Objectives


Build confidence by completing a full TOEIC Speaking test simulation.
Identify and address specific challenges under exam conditions.
Provide detailed feedback on performance for each question type.

Full Test Simulation


Conduct a series of full 11-question TOEIC Speaking tests under timed conditions.

Detailed Feedback


Provide targeted feedback on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and coherence for each question.

 

Focused Practice 


Revisit difficult questions (e.g., Picture Description or Opinion questions) based on student performance.

Class 7: Further Practice, Review, and Final Strategies

Provide additional full test practice to solidify skills.
Review key strategies for all question types.
Share final tips and encourage confidence for test day.

Conduct  full TOEIC Speaking tests under exam conditions.
